Australia's first dedicated music video app

Free Take 40 ® app puts advertisers in the hands of the nation’s music fans.

MCM Media has today announced the launch of Australia’s first dedicated music video application, the Take 40 app, offering iPhone users over 10,000 music videos on demand and the ultimate mobile music experience, anywhere, anytime.

The free-to-download app from MCM Media’s renowned cross-platform entertainment brand, Take 40 Australia, will give advertisers a content-rich, highly engaging mobile environment to reach the nation’s music and entertainment fans, on the go.

The launch of the new app is a compelling addition to MCM Media’s Digital Entertainment Network (DEN) which already reaches forty of the nation’s leading entertainment sites including take40.com, thehothits.com, ninemsn’s Music Fix, news.com.au, and Yahoo!7 Music.  In an Australian media first, advertisers can utilize the DEN to execute video ad campaigns online and on mobile within the same premium music environment.

Designed for iPhone, the app offers access to Take 40’s extensive catalogue of videos, including the nation’s biggest hits, celebrity interviews and content from exclusive live events like Take 40 Live with Jamiroquai and Take 40 Live Lounge with Jessie J.

“The explosion of smartphones represents a huge opportunity for marketers and I’m thrilled to have MCM Media breaking new ground in mobile advertising solutions. What’s more, mobile is now becoming an increasingly important way for music labels to promote their acts. The app provides consumers with a high quality music video streaming experience whilst ensuring that the artists are being remunerated via this ad funded model,” said Andrew Cordwell, Commercial Director Digital at MCM Media.

“The app would not be a reality without our partnership with the four major record labels – Universal Music, Sony Music, Warner Music and EMI,” he added.
Unique to any application available on the market, the Take 40 app delivers instant notifications of new release videos, playlist functionality and continuous music video streaming from the trusted authority in hit music.

Providing an innovative and exciting opportunity to engage with their target audiences, Telstra and Johnson & Johnson® skincare range, CLEAN & CLEAR® are the launch partners of the new app.

The Take 40 app was designed and developed by digital agency Igloo and utilizes movideo’s market leading online video platform. To experience the Take 40 app, simply download for free from Apple Australia’s App Store by searching “Take 40” or visit take40.com/app for more information.
